Biography

Yves was born in Lille, but as it’s too cold there, he convinced his parents to raise him in Toulon…

Yves reveals himself early on as a talented humorist. Even as a child, he was already making those around him laugh with his jokes, finding inspiration in the small gestures of everyday life.

Yves Pujol attended the Toulon Conservatoire d’art dramatique at the age of 19, and a year later gave his first professional stage performance in Toulon. At the same time, he was learning the rudiments of the performing arts at the Cours Florent in Paris, whether in music, theater, film or even television.

Despite his talent, Yves Pujol never imagined himself on stage and pursued a career as a letter carrier. He was on his fifth attempt to pass the competition as a trainee letter carrier when he decided to try his luck as a comedian anyway. But for him, the most embarrassing thing that has happened on stage is to have an audience that doesn’t react at all, before realizing at the end of his sketch that the audience in question doesn’t understand him because he’s not French!
